An Austrian log house manufacturer has switched its insulation to sheep's wool - with clear results. Everything meticulously documented with a stopwatch and sharpened pencil.
It is not only the price of the material that matters – but also what ultimately happens on the construction site. A fair price comparison shows that ISOLENA sheep's wool significantly reduces overall costs. And that's not even mentioning the ease of processing and healthy living.
The facts from practice:
- Offcuts„Experience has shown that wood fibre insulation requires around 15 % more material. With sheep's wool, on the other hand, we subtract the area of the wooden studs, which means 7 % less material is required in the measured structure.“ (see graph below).
- Waste disposal: Timed: 2 skilled workers collect rubbish and then dispose of it, time required: 2 hours. Calculated at 4 hours at 70 € per hour.
- Working hours: By eliminating cutting to size, cutting out for installations, uncomfortable working conditions due to protective clothing and dust exposure, practice shows: "Installation is at least half as fast!"
