Step by step

Step 1:
Prepare acoustic felt
Lay your acoustic felt on a flat surface. Make sure that the Front page and which is the reverse side of your felt. We always add a corresponding marking at the factory.
Step 2:
Cut felt and Velcro to size
Fair the Acoustic felt according to your circumstances and cut it to the Desired size to.
You could glue the felt directly, but we advise you to use a Velcro system and recommend the product ecofix from the Vorwerk company. Cut your chosen hook and loop to match the size of the felt.

Theoretically, you can also wallpaper the felt directly onto the wall instead of using a Velcro system. "Great! Saves me time and money"you think to yourself? That's right, but Attention! There are good reasons why we expressly recommend the Velcro system:
- When bonding, there is a risk that the Adhesive penetrates the felt and you can then see this irreparably in the finished work.
- In addition, the Velcro system more flexibleThis means that if something didn't work out during assembly, you can remove the felt again and stick it on again.
- The Velcro system also makes it possible to Dismantling possible without damaging the felt. To do this, you need to work carefully so that the felt does not come out of the mould.

Step 3:
Apply primer
Clean the wall thoroughly so that it is dust-free, dry and grease-free. Apply the primer with a short pile roller or a large wallpapering brush. even and comprehensive on the wall.
For this coating, we recommend the product "Primer D1" from Murexin. The concentrate is very economical, solvent-free and very low in emissions. The quantity required is approximately 1 litre/10 m².
Step 4:
Attach Velcro system
Now apply the hook and loop system to the entire surface of the pre-treated wall. No waiting time is necessary. The ecofix we recommend is self-adhesive and you can carefully press the cut strips down by hand first so that they adhere evenly to the surface.
Then use a Pressure rollerto firmly connect the strips to the wall. Check that the strips evenly and there are no loose spots.

If you decide in favour of the adhesive option despite the reasons mentioned above, you will need to apply an adhesive after priming. The same applies if your hook and loop system is not self-adhesive.
In this case we advise you to Special linoleum and carpet adhesive DK 74 (approx. 300g/m²). A very good alternative to this adhesive is the Wet and pressure-sensitive adhesive D 391 (approx. 500g/m²), also from Murexin. Both are applied undiluted to the wall and guarantee optimum hold.
Make absolutely sure that you use the adhesive Even and not too thick on!

Step 5:
Attach acoustic felt
Now the Silentum acoustic felt can go on the wall. Place it on the top edge and carefully smooth it down. Use a roller or a Pressure roller you ensure the appropriate adhesion again and you can remove small air bubbles or wrinkles.
Step 6:
